The DELF Prim A1. 1 is an official certificate to certify the proficiency in French as a Foreign Language for children who are beginners in French. The DELF Prim A1. 1 is an international certification of French language proficiency. 

What will I learn?

  • ​Level A1.1 is the minimal level of skill​ of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). Level A1.1 constitutes the assessable minimal level of skill in French, in oral (listening, speaking) as in the paper (reading, writing), which already possess or can acquire absolute beginners in French as a foreign language.

DELF Prim A1. 1 corresponds to the pre-beginner level of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). It is indicative of French proficiency level in a young learner's (elementary school student) environment.

The DELF A1 exam evaluates four key language skills: Listening: Understanding short, simple spoken messages. Reading: Comprehending basic written texts. Writing: Writing simple texts related to everyday life. Speaking: Engaging in brief, simple conversations.

It enhances career prospects by showcasing proficiency in French, opening doors to employment and study opportunities in French-speaking countries. It fosters cultural appreciation and cross-cultural communication skills. Moreover, DELF certification instills confidence and a sense of achievement.

To give you an indication, it takes 60 hours to reach level A1. To progress from level A1 to level A2 will take around 120 hours of learning. The length of time it takes to reach the other levels varies: 150 hours to go from A2 to B1; 200 hours from B1 to B2 and 250 hours from B2 to C1.
