This will help the student to participate in and understand the main points of a longer conversation as long as the exchange is slow and clear enough and about topics familiar to the student. They will also be able to read longer texts in the language.

At the DELF B1 level, you are a candidate who is already more comfortable with the language. Your level is described as “independent”. You can manage in everyday situations and you can also give your opinion, understand a discussion, or interact with other people.

Normally, 80 hours of study is required to achieve the B1 level in French. You might take around 6 and 8 months to achieve a B1 level if you engage in 10 hours each week for your French studies.

Your level is level is B1 on the European scale (CEFR). It's a INTERMEDIATE level in French, which makes you an “independent speaker”. Which means you do not need to rely on others to assist you in your dealings with the French language.
