At level A1, a learner: Has a very basic range of simple expressions about personal details and needs of a concrete type. Has a basic vocabulary repertoire of isolated words and phrases related to particular concrete situations.

French A1 level encompasses listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Learners can understand simple sentences, participate in simple dialogues, and pick up basic vocabulary. French A1, as the name suggests, is the introductory level of French language learning.

A1 level: It will take you between 100 to 150 hours to get here. You will be able to communicate with others with short phrases and talk a bit about yourself. A2 level: 180 to 200 hours of learning.

A1 or Beginner: It is the most basic level of language learning. At this level, the user can do the following tasks: Can recognize and use known expressions and fundamental phrases that used in everyday needs.1

An A1 level of English would be sufficient for very simple interactions, for example as a tourist in an English-speaking country. An A1 level would not be sufficient for other academic or professional purposes.
