Course description

At the beginning of the C1. 1 German course you will learn to speak spontaneously and fluently about various specialized topics that deal with complex issues and can help you in your professional and social life. You will be able to express your thoughts and opinions precisely and to elaborate on certain aspects.

The course content of C1 German course is very diverse. Besides grammar and vocabulary, pronunciation, listening comprehension and writing skills are also trained. In the courses, much emphasis is placed on the communicative ability of the participants.8 Mar 2024

An evening, morning or weekend course for advanced learners at level B1, B2, C1 or C2 lasts 20-24 days, including 72 lessons (each lasting 45 minutes). This means that, on average, you will have three lessons per evening, morning or weekend.

Some roles demand minimal to no German skills, especially in English-centric research, while others, involving local partnerships or teaching, may require a higher level of proficiency, such as C1 or beyond.

Level B1 or B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, depending on the federal state in which you wish to work.

Whether you are planning to study or work in Germany, it is highly recommended to be proficient in the German language at least at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Are German language skills required to get a work visa or residence permit? If you already have a job offer in Germany, you do not need to prove German language skills to get your work visa or residence permit. Nevertheless, it is worth learning the language to be able to communicate better in everyday life.
