Course description

The A1. 1 course will allow you to get a grip on the monster we call the German language. You'll learn how to ask and answer important questions in your daily life. Furthermore, you will become acquainted with the German alphabet, numbers, and many verbs in the present tense.

What will I learn?

  • They are able to introduce themselves and other people, they can ask and answer simple questions about personal details, describe daily routines in a simple manner and provide information about themselves in writing in simple sentences.

You'll learn how to introduce yourself, how to tell people where you're from and where you live, and many other important aspects to do with everyday life. You'll also learn fundamental basics such as the German ABC, numbers, etc.

During this course, you will learn basic German vocabulary and grammar. We will incorporate listening, speaking, and reading activities in addition to written assignments. Your goal should be that, by the end of this course, you are able to participate in basic conversations, as well as read and write in German.

You'll be introduced to fundamental grammar concepts, such as: Noun gender (masculine, feminine, neuter) Definite and indefinite articles (der, die, das; ein, eine) Singular and plural forms. Personal pronouns (ich, du, er/sie/es) Present tense verb conjugation. Basic sentence structure (subject-verb-object)

A1 (Lower Beginner) 8 weeks (60-150 hours)

Goethe-Zertifikats A1 through C2 do not expire. Many institutions and employers, however, expect the certificate to be dated not more than two years ago.
