Course description

During every class meeting student will rehearse on parallel skills that simultaneous need. These parallel skills include, speaking, listening, and organizing memory.

What will I learn?

Shadow the speaker easily and confidently;
Overcome tongue-bound problems and mike-fright;
Interpret simultaneously a 2-5-minute simple technical oral text;
Demonstrate confidence through voice clarity and precision when interpreting; 5. Provide speech fillers;

It typically takes 2+ years for a professional linguist to be trained to be a simultaneous interpreter. During this time, interpreters learn to listen to a speaker and interpret with only a few seconds delay. Ideally, simultaneous interpreters review speeches or other materials available before the event to prepare.
