CCST certifications are available at three levels, depending on the level of experience, training, and education, with Level I being the most basic. Candidates must meet a minimum level of combined of education, training, and experience requirements. Candidates must pass a written exam.

Is CCST for beginners? Yes. It's more advanced than CompTIA A+ but less complex than Network+. It's also more accessible than the CCNA.

If you earned your CCST before July 15, 2025, your certification remains a lifetime certification. Certifications earned on or after July 15, 2025 will be valid for 5 years.
