Course description

Aptis Advanced consists of five components: core (grammar and vocabulary), listening, reading, speaking and writing. You may be taking one skill component (for example, listening) or all four skill components, depending on the requirements by your organization or institution.

What will I learn?

  • How are the results presented? The results from Aptis are presented in two ways: numerical score: A scale of 0 to 50 for each skill tested and a score for the Grammar and Vocabulary component. CEFR level by skill: A CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level is allocated for each skill tested.

The Aptis Advanced test includes the Aptis core test, the more difficult reading, listening, writing and speaking tasks from the Aptis test described above and additional tasks which are more demanding.

It provides reliable results to enable better decision-making about your language training, benchmarking or selection processes. Aptis is trusted by governments and organisations in more than 85 countries for validating and raising the standards of English.

Although these two versions have the same listening and speaking components, they differ in their Reading and Writing sections. While both versions are available in paper-based or in the new computer-based formats, all Speaking tests are done in person.
